What should I expect during an oral biopsy or soft tissue surgery?

These procedures are typically used to investigate or treat lumps, sores, or changes in the soft tissues of the mouth. Using a local anaesthetic to ensure you are comfortable, our skilled dentists gently remove a small sample or treat the affected area. Early detection is key to oral health, and we ensure the process is handled with the utmost care and sensitivity.

Will I need to take time off work after oral surgery?

Most patients find they can return to their normal routine within a day or two. For minor procedures, you may even feel fine to return to work the following day. However, if you opt for IV sedation or undergo more complex surgery, we usually recommend taking 24 to 48 hours of downtime to rest and allow the initial healing to take place.

Are there any age limits for dental implants or surgery?

There is no upper age limit for dental implants, provided you are in good general health and have sufficient bone to support the treatment. We generally advise waiting until the jawbone has stopped growing (usually around age 18) before considering implants for younger patients.
